Diskomo 2000 is a compilation/remix album by The Residents, released in 2000 on East Side Digital and Bomba.

Similar in conept to the 1999 compilation Refused, Diskomo 2000 collects the orignal Diskomo / Goosebump EP, as well as later re-recordings of the EPs songs.

Background[]

Following the release of The Residents' 1970s passion project Eskimo, the group found themselves slightly self conscious and were worried that their 40 minute inuit soundscape would be seen as pretentious. Set on proving they were not without humor, the eyeballs immediately began remixing the enitre album into an 8 minute disco mix, which was backed by the 15 minute suite 'Goosebump'.

Flash forward twenty years, and Japanese record label Bomba wanted to put out an album length version of Diskomo / Goosebump, and requested that The Residents provide roughly ten minutes worth of bonus tracks to round it out. For this task, the group recorded Diskomo and Twinkle 2000,[1] the latter of which featured co-producer and cover artist Homer Flynn's daughter on lead vocals. The title track is heavily based on a 1988 Belgian club hit titled "Even Now" by New Beat trio L&O, which in itself is an uncredited cover of The Residents' Diskomo. Also included in the album is Diskomo 1992, an early demo version of 'Gone Again' from Our Finest Flowers.

The album was released on CD by Bomba Records in Japan, and by East Side Digital in the US. It was later re-released in a re-arranged form for Record Store Day 2017. This version was listed as an extended version of Diskomo / Goosebump, and was pressed on colored vinyl.
