The Residents Radio Special is a promotional release by The Residents, initially compiled and released in 1979.

History

The Residents Radio Special was issued to radio stations shortly before the release of Eskimo. It was soon offered through their mail-order service in limited quantities on cassette, and re-released in 1980 and 1984.

The Residents Radio Special features the first official release of the cover of The Mothers of Invention's "King Kong", with Snakefinger on guitar, as well as "Kamakazi Lady", both from the Baby Sex demo tape. Otherwise, it contains mostly single tracks, as well as tracks from the recent Fingerprince/Babyfingers project.

A limited edition, entitled Eat Exuding Oinks!, was released in 2001, featuring the original radio show and the digitally remastered versions of the songs.
